How it works

  1. 1

    Load your melody

A MusicXML or MIDI file, for example from MuseScore. No chords? Solo To Duo suggests them.

  2. 2

    Choose the settings

Above or below the tune, which voice sings it, how simple or bold, what rhythm.

  3. 3

    Pick and combine

Get several versions at once. Keep the best bars of each, and change any note by hand.

  4. 4

    Sing it

Download the parts for MuseScore or print a PDF for your singers.

What it can do

  • Several versions of the second voice at once, to compare by ear
  • Written for real singers: soprano, alto, tenor or bass range
  • From simple thirds to a bold, independent line
  • Bach-style counterpoint: canon and imitation for three voices
  • A third and fourth voice: a simple bass and alto from the chords
  • Chords suggested when your melody has none; move the song to a comfortable key
  • Build your own voice from the best fragments and edit any note
  • Export to MuseScore (MusicXML) or print a PDF

What files can I use?

MusicXML (.musicxml, .mxl) and MIDI. MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale and Dorico all export them.

Do I need to know harmony?

Will there be a free version?

Yes. You can work with the built-in examples and with one melody of your own for free.

Are my melodies private?

Yes. Your melodies and the voices you make stay yours. We never publish or share them.
